Anonymous asked: I want to get a tattoo on my cutting wrist.A small, simple one that says, "Destroy What Destroys You" in a pretty font. But I'm planning on becoming an RN. Will having this tattoo hurt my chances of being hired? It's not just a stupid last minute decision tattoo, it has so, so, so much meaning to me.
That sounds like a very meaningful tattoo. And no, having a visible tattoo will not hurt your chances of being hired, especially in a nursing shortage.
Places and patients do frown upon them and we are told this in school but I just happen to have a neighbor who is an RN and who has a wrist tattoo. I’ve asked her about it before and she said that when she is at work she covers it with simple things such as a sweat band for the wrists (that match her scrubs lol) sometimes a large band aid, or just wearing long sleeves. She said she has never been questioned about it as long as it is covered while she is working.
Hope this helps! And good luck with everything :)
