Anonymous asked: I know that you don't give names ect but do you not feel that you are still impeding on nurse-client confidentiality by putting some of this stuff up on the internet for anyone to see?!?!?!
No I am not. Believe me, I made sure to ask several people (professors, school officials, my uncle who is a lawyer and my mothers friend who is a nurse) and check legal standings before I created this. The last thing I wanted to do was given away patient information. I was told that as long as patient names, room number, DOB’s, age, exact diagnosis, exact treatment, hospital, and where I am located are not put online, it is okay for me to do this.
I also do not put up everything that me and the patients share. Only things that are witnessed by others, and that are very general/vague. I would never put up an exact conversation or description of a patient, that is not right.
Also you might notice that I have not included my full name or my University or where exactly I am located. I do not wish for anyone to find out who I am, just in case anyone I work with might recognize what I am talking about and who I am talking about. I care deeply about the patients I care for. They have all been wonderful people and I never want to do them harm. I use this blog as a way for other student to see what they can expect and to see someone who is going through something similar.
Btw, thank you for addressing this. In Nursing, confidentiality is very important and it’s good that someone has asked me. :)
